Unlike the gemstones celebrated in Ratna Shastra, Howlite belongs to a more recent chapter in history. Discovered in the nineteenth century, it gradually found its place in modern spiritual traditions, not because of ancient legend, but because its quiet character came to reflect virtues that never go out of time.
